De film zit vol geslaagde visuele grappen en ingenieuze woordgrappen. Ondanks de klei een ontroerende menselijke ode aan de vriendschap. Regisseur Adam Elliot ontving in 2003 een Oscar voor zijn korte kleianimatie Harvie Krumpet.
